WATKINS BURIED MON. IN ST. LUKE'S CEM. Mrs. Sarah Anne Watkins, 82, wife of the late Smith Watkins and daughter of the late Robert and Mary Mildred Mountjoy died Saturday afternoon at the home of D.L. Mountjoy in Rescue. Mrs. Watkins was born in Stafford County and has resided in this area all her life. She is survived by a son, George W. Watkins Sr., Leesville, South Carolina; daughter, Mrs. Walter Johnson of Rescue; two brothers, Daniel E. and John Mountjoy; sister, Mrs. George Johnson of Rescue; two grandchildren, George W. Watkins, Jr. and Mrs. Samuel A. Wells, both of Phoebus; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral procession left the Jones Funeral Home Monday at 1:30 p.m. and services were held at Riverview Methodist Church in Rescue with the Rev. Victor Anthony officiating. Burial was in St. Luke's Church Cemetery at Benns Church. Active pallbearers were George Johnson, Percy Martin, Frank Carter, Hoyt Haverty, Charlie Mountjoy and Wyatt Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Rea Parker Jr., Ray F. Mewborne, Chief J.M. Peach and the Stewards of the Riverview Methodist Church.
